Understanding Your Screen Time Stats

Brainrot gives you a clear picture of how you use your phone. Here's a breakdown of what you'll find in your stats and how to act on it.

Daily overview

The home screen shows today's total screen time compared to your goal. The progress ring fills up as you use your phone — the goal is to end the day with it below your target.

App-by-app breakdown

Tap into your stats to see which apps are consuming the most time. This is often eye-opening — many people discover that one or two apps account for the vast majority of their screen time.

Weekly trends

The weekly view shows your daily totals over the past 7 days as a bar chart. Look for patterns:

  • Weekend spikes — common and normal, but worth watching if the gap is large
  • Consistent reduction — a sign your goal-setting and blocking strategies are working
  • Mid-week peaks — might indicate stress-scrolling during busy work days

Pickups

Pickups track how many times you unlock your phone each day. High pickup counts (50+ per day is common) often correlate with habitual, mindless checking. Reducing pickups can be just as impactful as reducing total time.

Where does this data come from?

All screen time data comes from Apple's Screen Time API. Brainrot reads it — we don't generate or estimate it. If your data looks off, check Screen Time Data Not Showing Up for troubleshooting steps.
